The
Power Type Transformers
connection help.
To
help our customers understand proper connections for dual
primary and/or dual secondary transfomers we have prepared 4
examples (below) on a hypothetical dual primary & dual
secondary transformer. The key to proper connections is the
phasing information.
Series
Winding Connections
(Primary)
|

|
In
this example we are connecting the two primary
windings in series...
-
Note
phasing dots on primary connection points 2 & 4.
-
Jumper
connection 2 & 3 (note: connection 2 has a
phasing dot - connection 3 does not).
-
Connect
input to connection points 1 & 4.
|
Parallel
Winding Connections
(Primary)
|

|
In
this example we are connecting the two primary
windings in parallel...
-
Note
phasing dots on primary connection points 2 & 4.
-
Jumper
connections 2 & 4 (note: both connections have a
phasing dot).
-
Jumper
connections 1 & 3 (note: both connections have
no phasing dots).
-
Connect
input to connection points 1 & 4.
|
Series
Winding Connections
(Secondary)
|

|
In
this example we are connecting the two secondary
windings in series...
-
Note
phasing dots on secondary connection points 5 &
7.
-
Jumper
connection 6 & 7 (note: connection 7 has a
phasing dot - connection 6 does not).
-
Output
from connection points 5 & 8.
|
Parallel
Winding Connections
(Secondary)
|

|
In
this example we are connecting the two secondary
windings in parallel...
-
Note
phasing dots on secondary connection points 5 &
7.
-
Jumper
connections 5 & 7 (note: both connections have a
phasing dot).
-
Jumper
connections 6 & 8 (note: both connections have
no phasing dots).
-
Output
from connection points 5 & 8.
